Pet Relocation to Bangladesh

Pet Relocation

All pets must first be micro-chipped then vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days, but not more than 6 months, prior to pet relocation to Bangladesh. They must also be accompanied by export health certificate signed, stamped and dated by a licensed government veterinarian in country of origin which should state that the animal is free from any infectious or contagious diseases.
There may be forms at Dhaka airport to fill out upon arrival–but overall, Bangladesh doesn’t have any formalized system for bringing pets into the country. Airport personnel will try to charge you approx. 1100 Taka as a “customs” fee for bringing a pet into Bangladesh. It’s probably best to just pay it and not argue. In general, a little taka (“baksheesh”= bribe) can usually make the impossible possible when navigating Bangladeshi Red Tape.
These are guidelines only which are subject to change. Contact the Embassy of Bangladesh for current details about Pet Relocation into their country.
