Pet Relocation to Colombia


Pet relocation; Rabies vaccination is not required for pets entering from a rabies free country or dogs and cats that are less than 4 months old but dogs must be vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and parVovirus, with cats being vaccinated against feline Rhinothrach, calicivirus and panleukopenia.
Pets coming in from those countries which have outbreak of rabies will require vaccinating against rabies at least 30 days, but not more than 6 months. Pets must also be a accompanied by a export health certificate, signed, stamped and dated, within 5 days, by a licensed government veterinarian in country of origin.
It is very highly recommended that your pet be on a flea and tick prevention program prior to entering Colombia.
No Import Permit is required for personal pets accompanied by their owners. Animals imported in commercial lot numbers must first obtain an import permit.
