A “Pet Passport” for those pets travelling between specified EU member states must show that the pet had FIRST been Micro-chipped and then vaccinated against rabies at least 21 days, but not more than 12 months, prior to entering Ireland. The requirements for pets arriving from a none EU member state must FIRST be micro-chipped then vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days, but not more than 12 months, followed by a blood test later to see if the vaccination had worked. Pets entering Ireland without a Pet Passport must be accompanied by a export health certificate signed, stamped, and dated by a licensed government veterinarian in country of origin within 48 hours of export.
