Pet Relocation to Republic of Moldova

Bringing pets to Moldova; Before entering Moldova, pet owners should ensure that their pets are properly vaccinated and that they have vaccination records (primarily rabies vaccine showing that the pet had been vaccinated at least 30 days but not more than 12 months prior to arrival in Moldova). Pets must be accompanied by a export health certificate signed, stamped and dated within 4 days by a licensed government verterinarian in country of origin. Pets should also have been vaccinated; Dogs: Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus , Cats; Feline Enteritis, Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus. Bring or ship any special needs such as worm medicine or particular food. Properly documented animals are cleared quickly through customs. Be sure all pet records are completely up to date before arrival. Pets must travel to Moldova as manifest cargo. Since local veterinarians do not always have vaccines, make sure your pet has all needed vaccinations before you come. If you anticipate a need for particular medicines, make arrangements with a veterinarian to send additional supplies. These are guidelines only and subject to change. Contact the Embassy of Moldova for current requirements about moving pets into their country.
