Pet Relocation to Oman

Pets travelling to Oman; Whether it’s a dog or a cat it cannot enter at less than fours month of age due to the necessary Vaccination requirements. Your pet should have its first Rabies vaccine at 3 months (12 weeks) of age, and then can enter 4 weeks after the first valid Vaccination against Rabies with a accompanied certificate . All adult dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days, but not more than 12 months, prior to entering the country. On Arrival, pets have to be accompanied by the Import Permit from Oman, the original Rabies certificate (WITH VACCINATION STICKERS) and any other required Vaccination Certificates plus The EXPORT HEALTH CERTIFICATE FOR EXPORT signed, stamped and date by a licensed veterinarian within 4 days in country of origin stating, in English or Arabic, that the pet is healthy and fit to travel to the Sultanate Of Oman. In some countries (ie Holland) there is no official Ministry Health Certificate issued anymore but instead this is stamped into a Pet Passport. If this is the case the Oman Embassy must also stamp the Health Certificate to verify it. These are guidelines only which are subject to change. Contact the Oman Embassy for current requirements about bringing pets into the country.
