Pet Relocation to Spain

Pet Relocation; If pets have a completed “Pet Passport” valid under the “pet travel scheme” they can be imported into Spain without going into quarantine. This will show they are vaccinated and free from the diseases listed by Spanish Authorities. The “Pet Passport” must be signed, stamped and dated no more than 5 days prior to bringing your pet into the country. For countries outside a EU member state an International Export Health certificate will be required which must state: That your pet shows no signs of disease and had FIRST been micro-chipped then vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days, but not more than 12 months, prior to entering Spain with the rabies vaccination certificate accompanying the pet. The International Export Health Certificate must show that the pet was examined by a licensed government veterinarian within 5 days in country of origin before entering Spain. These are guidelines only. Contact the Embassy of Spain for current requirements about bringing pets into their country.
