Scams

PETS: DO NOT SEND MONEY IN CASH VIA WESTERN UNION TO ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW PERSONALLY – OTHERWISE THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL LOSE THE PAYMENT TO A SCAM.

WORST COUNTRIES FOR PET SCAMS: CAMEROON, NIGERIA, AND OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRIES, ALTHOUGH MOST COUNTRIES SHOULD BE TREATED WITH SCEPTICISM BECAUSE MANY OF THESE SCAMMERS STEAL THE WEBSITES OF LEGITIMATE COMPANIES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD IN WHICH TO DECEIVE THE UNSUSPECTING.

Before you buy:

Before you buy anything online, or by email, make a note of the surface postal address of the person or company you are buying from. This should include details of the “Land-line telephone and/or fax” then phone this land-line back for questioning because this is where they are likely to trip-up – if they answer the phone! – never rely on;- just a mobile telephone number, a Box number as part of an address or an email address.

Always use secure websites:

A yellow padlock symbol will appear in the browser window to show the payment process is secure

Play safe by using a Letter of Credit through your bank:

A letter of credit is an obligation taken on by a bank to make a payment once certain criteria are met. Once these terms are completed and confirmed by both parties, the bank will transfer the funds into the bona fide bank account.

Remember – If it sounds too good to be true – It probably is.
